In June, our theme is called ‘Looking Back!’. We challenge ourselves create a dish that represents the title; it may be a historical dish, a personal classic / favorite or something yummy tied to a memory!

One Last Meal: Ramen Noodles

Moving Day had me going cuckoo for cocoa puffs…With limited ingredients in the house, I made a quick and filling lunch with minced meat & mushrooms.

Ramen noodles remind me of my first flavorful explorations…ever! I am a Ramen kinda gal; just add water! My parents would cook these elaborate dishes; like multi-cultural, culinary artistic meals…and I just loved me some ramen…
Ma suggested I add veggies next time, for a pop of color and extra nutritional value. She’s on my case! (❁´◡`❁) It’s just a phase Mom👩🏻🎤I promise, I’ll fill up my new Crazy-As-Nine-to-Five studio apartment with more colorful edible stuffs…right after I fly back in from Ice-Ice-Baby-Land!

Frozen Flowers & Fruit

Baby Pearl is heading to Aruba in a few weeks! So, I thought I’d get a head start on some cutesy ice cubes to decorate & add taste as well as aroma to our Summer Girly drinks!
I was inspired to encapsulate or capture the essence of the formation and the keeping of “Memories”, alive! In my latest post, I share more on my grueling journey, living with severe allergies due to a Degenerative Genetic Disorder (unnamed, only has numbers & letters to identify it by…containing several subdiagnoses, all with differing prognoses).
My favorites were of course the frangipani flowers, balled up! These & the spiced orange slices made my morning coffee smell & taste incredible!

I love Art! And nature has unmatched Beauty, that we just can’t fully recreate. I froze, and refroze to test the look of the flowers & fruit. I look forward to creating more of these!

I froze the following:
1. Flowers
2. Orange Slices
3. Herbs
4. Grapes (which looked like eyes!)
5. Shimarucu (local red fruit)
6. Rose Hip Tea with sugar added
7. I added spices such as Cardamom, Coriander & Melissa seeds
